NOTICE OF CONSULTATION
EPM 28991 and 28992 – TODD RIVER METALS PTY LTD
Olkola Determination (QUD 673 of 2014)
On 12 June 2025, the State of Queensland issued a notification under s.29(7) of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (NTA) identifying Exploration Permits for Minerals (EPMs) 28991 and 28992 as acts attracting the expedited procedure. On 2 February 2026 the expedited statement was removed and EPMs 28991 and 28992 were reclassified as acts that attract the normal negotiation procedure.
This notice is to advise that Cape York Land Council (CYLC) will be facilitating a consultation meeting for those Native Title Holders who hold rights and interests in the area of EPMs 28991 and 28992 (as shown on the map below) within the Ut-Alkar AC RNTBC area. At this meeting, CYLC will discuss the options available to progress this matter.

When: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Venue: Bob’s Place, Peninsula Development Road, Laura QLD 4892

Purpose of this meeting:
The purpose of this meeting is for CYLC to provide information and take instructions in relation to:
- the normal negotiation procedure under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth);
- cultural heritage that may be affected within the EPMs area; and
- options available to progress this matter under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003 (Qld).

Travel Attendance
CYLC has limited funding available for travel assistance to this meeting. CYLC may be able to provide some assistance, for example fuel reimbursement. CYLC will prioritise assisting elders and family representatives and will consider how limited funding can be allocated to support a broad representation of the affected Native Title Holders.
