On 30 May 2025, the Ankamuthi People Sea Claim native title claimant application QUD356/2025 was filed in the Federal Court of Australia (Ankamuthi People Sea Claim).
The Applicant to the Ankamuthi People Sea Claim has requested that a claim group meeting of the Ankamuthi People Sea Claim be held to provide information and an update on the Ankamuthi People Sea Claim.
DETAILS OF THE CLAIM GROUP MEETING:
12 noon, Monday, 9 February 2026 at the Injinoo Community Centre, MacDonnell Close, Injinoo (Lunch and refreshments will be provided to attendees)

The Claim Group Meeting is open to the Ankamuthi People Sea Claim Group, being:
The native title claim group is the Ankamuthi People, being those Aboriginal persons who are descendants by birth, or adoption in accordance with the traditional laws acknowledged and the traditional customs observed by the Ankamuthi People, from one or more of the following apical ancestors:
Woobumu and Inmare;
Bullock (father of Mamoose Pitt, husband of Rosie/Lena Braidley);
Charlie Mamoose (father of Silas, Larry, Johnny and Harry Mamoose);
Charlie Seven River;
Toby Seven River (father of Jack Toby);
Asai Charlie;
Sam and Nellie (parents of George Stephen);
Mammus/Mamoos/Mark/Mamoose plus his siblings Peter and Elizabeth;
Charlie Maganu (husband of Sarah McDonnell); or
Polly (wife of Wautaba Charlie Ropeyarn).
Limited travel assistance will be provided to assist Ankamuthi People to attend the Claim Group Meeting.
