Wednesday 7 May 2025 – Mareeba Library – Western Yalanji People #4 Native Title Determination (QUD 6008 of 1999)
This notice is to advise that Cape York Land Council (CYLC) will facilitate a meeting with those people who hold or may hold Native Title Act rights and interests within the Cape York United #1 Native Title Claim (QUD673/2014) (CYU#1 Claim) subject to the proposed grant of EPM 28768 to Warren James Mulcahy (as shown on the map below in the hatched area).
The Explorer has commenced full enquiry proceedings with the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT). At this meeting, CYLC will discuss with the Native Title Party the NNTT’s full enquiry process and the options available to progress this matter.
The meeting will be held as follows:

When: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Venue: Mareeba Library, 43 Anzac Avenue, Mareeba QLD 4880
Video conference facilities will be available upon request.
Purpose of this meeting
The purpose of this meeting is for CYLC to provide information and seek instructions from those Traditional Owners with interests within the CYU#1 area of EPM 28768 concerning:
- the expedited procedure statement attached to the notification of EPM 28768;
- the NNTT’s full enquiry process engaged for EPM 28768;
- cultural heritage that may be affected within the EPM area;
- options available to progress this matter under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003 (Qld).
