The Applicant in the Cape York United #1 (CYU#1) Claim will hold an important meeting on Thursday 20 February 2025 in relation to the area of Mining Lease (ML) 100311 access route within the CYU#1 claim applied for by Diatreme Resources Ltd (as shown on the map below). Cape York Land Council (CYLC) will facilitate the meeting as the legal representative of the Applicant of the CYU#1 and will be present at the meeting to provide advice to the native title group. The applicant for the mining lease, Diatreme Resources Ltd, will be available at this meeting, if requested, to discuss its project.

The purpose of this meeting
This matter concerns the proposed route for a mining infrastructure lease through the Daarba Land Trust area and the impacts this route may have on the cultural condition or heritage of the land and waters within the CYU#1 claim. At this meeting, the infrastructure proposal will be discussed, and instructions will be taken from the Daarba Clan. This is an important meeting.
