Kunjen Olkol Native Title Determination (QUD 673 of 2014)
THIS MEETING WILL BE RENOTIFIED
This notice is to advise that Cape York Land Council (CYLC) will facilitate a meeting with those people who hold Native Title
rights and interests within the Kunjen Olkol Native Title Determination (QUD 673 of 2014) subject to the proposed grant of
Exploration Permit for Minerals (EPMs) 28670, 28704, 28705, 28706 and 28748 held by BMAX Holdings Pty Ltd.
The Explorer has commenced full enquiry proceedings with the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT) with a view to receiving
a determination that the expedited procedure applies to EPMs 28670, 28704, 28705, 28706 and 28748.
On 20 December 2024, CYLC facilitated a meeting to discuss the NNTTs full enquiry process and options available to progress
this matter. At this meeting, it was agreed that the Native Title Holders would attend a meeting in January 2025 to discuss the
progression of the matter.

Purpose of this meeting
The purpose of this meeting is for CYLC to provide information and seek instructions in relation to:
• the expedited procedure statement attached to the notification of EPMs 28670, 28704, 28705, 28706 and 28748;
• the NNTTs full inquiry process engaged for EPMs 28670, 28704, 28705, 28706 and 28748; and;
• options available to progress this matter under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage
Act 2003 (Qld).

Travel Attendance
CYLC has limited funding available for travel assistance to this meeting. CYLC may be able to provide some assistance, for
example fuel reimbursement. CYLC will prioritise assisting elders and family representatives and will consider how limited
funding can be allocated to support a broad representation of the affected Native Title Holders. To make a request for
