This notice is to advise that the Applicant in the Cape York United #1 (CYU#1) Claim will convene a meeting on Tuesday 12 November 2024 in Hopevale for all members of the Guugu Yimidhirr Native Title Group in relation to the area shown on the map below within the CYU#1 Claim. This meeting has been rescheduled from 17 October 2024.

Who is invited to attend the meeting?
All Guugu Yimidhirr People are invited to attend the meeting.
Purpose of Meeting
- (a) Confirm the proposed boundary of the Guugu Yimidhirr Native Title Group and the Yiithuwarra Native Title Group, commencing at the Jeannie River;
- (b) Confirm the proposed list of apical ancestors which make up the group description for the Guugu Yimidhirr Native Title Group;
- (c) Provide an update on the CYU#1 Claim and to discuss next steps required to progress towards a determination of native title.
This is an important decision-making meeting and we encourage all members of the Guugu Yimidhirr Native Title Group to attend. The legal representative of the CYU#1 Applicant will take instructions on the group and boundary descriptions for the Guugu Yimidhirr by way of resolution. In accordance with the applicable Federal Court timetable, the group and boundary descriptions must be decided by Guugu Yimidhirr and provided to the State.
