This notice is to advise that Cape York Land Council (CYLC) will be facilitating consultation between those Native Title Holders whose traditional land and waters are directly affected by the proposed grant of Exploration Permit for Minerals (EPM) 28074 and the project proponent, Silica Australia Pty Ltd, on 10 October 2024. The Explorer has commenced negotiation procedures under section 31 of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) with a view to reaching an agreement that permits the act to be done.

Purpose of this meeting:
On 31 August 2024, the elected working group met with Silica Australia Pty Ltd to discuss its proposed project. At this meeting, it was decided that the project outline and proposed methodology must be provided to the larger group for its consideration. On 17 October 2024, the below-listed items will be discussed:
- The proposed target exploration areas;
- The exploration methodology to be employed by Silica Australia Pty Ltd; and
- Section 31 good faith negotiations and progressing this matter.
