This notice is to advise that Cape York Land Council (CYLC) will be facilitating a meeting for people who hold Native Title rights and interests in the proposed Exploration Permits for Minerals (EPMs) 28395 and 28490 (as shown on the map below). On 10 May 2023, the Department of Resources issued a notification under section 29(7) of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (NTA), identifying that EPMs 28395 and 28490 are acts that attract the expedited procedure.

Purpose of this meeting:
The purpose of this meeting is for CYLC to:
- provide an update on this matter, including the outcome of the meeting with the Explorer held on 24 November 2023;
- discuss cultural heritage within EPMs 28395 and 28490;
- discuss cultural heritage protections required within EPMs 28395 and 28490; and
- take instruction to progress this matter.
