This notice is to advise that Ipima Ikaya Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (ICN 8114) (IIAC) and Cape York Land Council (CYLC) will hold a consultation meeting on Monday 15 July 2024 in Injinoo for all members of the Ankamuthi Native Title Group about: (a) the approved determination of native title made by the Federal Court in Woosup on behalf of the Northern Cape York Group #1 v State of Queensland (No 3) [2014] FCA 1148 (NCY #1 Determination); (b) the approved determination of native title made by the Federal Court in Anderson on behalf of the Northern Cape York #3 Native Title Claim Group v State of Queensland [2017] FCA 830 (NCY #3 Determination); and (c) the areas not yet determined that are part of the Northern Peninsula Sea Claim (QUD 114/2017) (NP Sea Claim) and North Eastern Peninsula Sea Claim (QUD 115/2017) (NEP Sea Claim) in the Endeavour Strait as shown on the map below (Disputed Area). CYLC will facilitate the meeting.
The meeting will be held as follows:

IIAC as the prescribed body corporate for the NCY #1 Determination and the NCY #3 Determination, and the CYLC lawyer and consultant assisting the Applicants in each of the NP Sea Claim and NEP Sea Claim will consult with the Ankamuthi Native Title Group and if appropriate seek instructions about the following matters:
1. Next steps in relation to the Disputed Area in the NP Sea Claim and the NEP Sea Claim;
2. A proposed boundary resolution process that the Ankamuthi Native Title Group may consider undertaking to resolve its common boundaries with neighbours (being Atambaya and Gudang Yadhaykenu Peoples) within the NCY #1 Determination Area and the NCY #3 Determination Area.
CYLC will also facilitate (on 8 and 9 July 2024) separate meetings with the Atambaya Native Title Group (in relation only to item [2] above) and the Gudang Yadhaykenu Native Title Group to discuss the above.
Who is invited to attend these meeting?
The meeting is open to those Aboriginal people who are descendants by birth or adoption, in accordance with the traditional laws acknowledged and traditional customs observed by the Atambaya Native Title Group, from one or more of the following apical ancestors:
- Woobumu and Inmare
- Bullock (father of Mamoose Pitt, husband of Rosie/Lena Braidley)
- Charlie Mamoose (father of Silas, Larry, Johnny and Harry Mamoose)
- Charlie Seven River
- Toby Seven River (father of Jack Toby)
- Asai Charlie
- Sam and Nellie (parents of George Stephen)
- Mammus/Mamoos/Mark/Mamoose plus his siblings Peter and Elizabeth
- Charlie Maganu (husband of Sarah McDonnell)
- Polly (wife of Wautaba Charlie Ropeyarn)
