[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1528452604684{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]The Ipima Ikaya Aboriginal Corporation holds land and waters on the northern tip of the Cape York Peninsula in trust for the McDonnell Atampaya, Gudang Yadhaigana and Angkamuthi Seven Rivers groups. Their native title rights and interests were recognised in the Northern Cape York #1 Native Title Claim Group determination of 30 October 2014.
The court recognised that the applicants held native title rights and interests. The determination area includes land and waters in the northern, north-western and north-eastern Cape York Peninsula, generally located north of the Scardon and Dulhunty Rivers and west of the western boundary and north of the northern boundary of the Heathland Resources Reserve, and extending to the high water mark on the seaward side.
