What we are working on.
CYLC is currently working on regional anthropological studies and ongoing native title claims, state land dealings and future acts and ILUA negotiations. The regional anthropological work is intended to establish a solid foundation of research in support of existing native title claims, and for new claims to be made in a well formulated and orderly manner.
Led by our Principal Legal Officer, the Native Title Unit provides legal and anthropological services to support the Traditional Owners of Cape York.
We also work to achieve land tenure outcomes and Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs) registered as part of the State Land Dealings (SLD) and national park transfer programs.
